Dr. Laura Goodman, Assistant Professor at Cornell University Baker Institute for Animal Health and Department of Public and Ecosystem Health, is an emerging infectious disease researcher trained at Cornell and Harvard. She is the section chief for Infectious Disease Epidemiology in the Cornell Public Health program. The Goodman Lab investigates mechanisms of pathogen emergence and adaptation, bringing experience in veterinary diagnostics and federal public health partnerships. Dr. Goodman takes a One Health perspective on pathogen discovery and surveillance, with focus areas on antimicrobial resistance and tick-borne disease, two emerging threats with the potential for major impacts on human and animal health.
