The COMPASS Center held its inaugural annual meeting on July 31–August 1, 2025, at Virginia Tech’s Academic Building One in Alexandria, Virginia.
Fall 2025 Pandemic Networking
August 22, 2025 4-6pm
The Fall 2025 Networking Event, hosted by NSF COMPASS and the PPP DA, will connect pandemic researchers and trainees across the university to foster collaboration and engagement.
2025 National Dialogue
November 12–13, 2025
The NSF COMPASS Center hosted its inaugural Ethics and Pandemic Science: A National Dialogue event on November 12–13, 2025, at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C.
1st Joint NSF PIPP Center Meeting
December 16-18, 2025
On December 16 and 18, 2025, the COMPASS Center hosted the first joint meeting of all NSF PIPP Centers in a virtual format.
2026 Undergraduate Summer Program
May–July 2026
The NSF COMPASS Center, a collaboration of scientists and engineers across Virginia Tech, Cornell University, the University of Michigan, Wake Forest University, Meharry Medical College, and Northern Arizona University, is seeking undergraduates from across the country to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program. Each summer, COMPASS interns bring new ideas, creativity, and energy to our interdisciplinary community. We hope you’ll consider applying to help advance the science and the workforce, needed to prepare for future pandemics.
