Assistant Research Scientist, Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation University of Michigan

James Henderson, PhD, is an Assistant Research Scientist in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan.  He has a BS in Mathematics from Michigan State University, a Masters in Secondary Education from American University, and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Michigan.  A statistician, data scientist, and health services researcher, his research focuses on the use of statistics and machine learning to assess and improve the efficacy and value of healthcare. A dedicated team scientist, he maintains multiple collaborations established during his prior role as statistical consultant.  Within the COMPASS center, James works on the PERSIST thrust developing machine learning models and methods for predicting inactivation of viruses under a range of conditions and for efficiently gathering data informing these models.
