Hannah Brown is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Dr. X.J. Meng’s laboratory at Virginia Tech. She earned her PhD in Virology from University College Dublin, Ireland, where her research focused on Hepatitis E virus (HEV). Building on that work, her current research continues to explore HEV, using complex culture systems to investigate viral replication and host interactions. Hannah is particularly interested in the mechanisms and pathogenesis of viral infections with cross-species transmission potential, including both zoonotic and animal-to-animal spread. Outside of the lab, Hannah enjoys reading, cooking, and hiking.
