Students Selected for 2025 COMPASS Summer Undergraduate Internship Program

NSF COMPASS officially announces the selection of five undergraduate students for the COMPASS Summer Undergraduate Internship Program from Virginia Tech, University of Michigan, and Yale University.

We are proud to officially announce the selection of five undergraduate students for the COMPASS Summer Undergraduate Internship Program. The interns will begin the program at the end of May 2025, joining COMPASS for a summer of research, collaboration, and professional growth.

The selected students represent three institutions, including Virginia Tech and the University of Michigan, and Yale University, bringing diverse academic backgrounds and perspectives to the program.The students selected include Sarayu Pulipati, Virginia Tech, Nikhitha Khasnavis, University of Michigan, Lindsay Harvey, University of Michigan, Atinuke Kazeem, Yale University, and Sanjana Gummalla, Virginia Tech.

Throughout the summer, interns will:

  • Conduct mentored research in cutting‑edge areas of pandemic science
  • Participate in virtual lectures and skill‑building workshops
  • Collaborate with peers across multiple universities
  • Build a national network of mentors, collaborators, and fellow interns

The COMPASS Summer Undergraduate Internship Program is designed to support the next generation of researchers by providing hands‑on experience, interdisciplinary training, and meaningful connections within the pandemic science community.
