Mira is a PhD candidate in Krista Wigginton’s group at the University of Michigan. Her research interests are measuring and predicting virus disinfection and removal in water and wastewater treatment processes. She collects data through laboratory experiments and systematic reviews. She analyses these data with statistical and predictive models to generate insight into the drivers of virus inactivation. Her work focuses on free chlorine and a variety of additional oxidants, as well as virus removal through coagulation processes. She received her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from U.C. Berkeley, and is an NSF GRFP Fellow.
